Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell had to spend Sunday night in a Denver hospital after suffering an allergic reaction to something he ate on a postgame spread in the clubhouse. Russell is allergic to shellfish, and they believe something he ate was mistakenly labeled, according to an interview he held with the Chicago Sun-Times. Luckily his hospitalization and allergic reaction was brief, and Russell was feeling well enough to fly to Cleveland, rejoining the team ahead of a two-game series against the Indians. He said he felt better and the team said he could be available to play in Tuesday’s opener.

Ten people were killed and 15 others injured after a white van collided with a crowd of pedestrians on a busy street north of downtown Toronto, Canada, on Monday, The suspect was identified as Alex Minassian, 25, according to Toronto Police media representative Gary Long. Stephen Powell, district chief for Toronto Fire, confirmed that there had been multiple fatalities. The incident occurred in the North York area at the intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue; Yonge Street is one of the main thoroughfares in Toronto. Ralph Goodale, the country’s minister of public safety and emergency preparedness, called the incident an attack but said he didn’t want to speculate when asked if the terrorism was to blame. “We cannot come to any firm conclusions at this stage,” he said.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian welcomed their newborn daughter, Tiana Gia Johnson, on Monday,. In an Instagram post, Johnson wrote, “Blessed and proud to bring another strong girl into this world. Tiana Gia Johnson came into this world like a force of nature and Mama @laurenhashianofficial labored and delivered like a true rockstar.” This is Johnson’s third daughter. The couple welcomed their first child together, Jasmine Lia, in December 2015. Johnson also shares a 16-year-old daughter named Simone with ex-wife, Dany Garcia. Jason Aldean‘s new album “Rearview Town” debuts atop Billboard 200, marking his fourth No. 1 effort on the chart. “Rearview Town” scores the largest week for a country album since Kenny Chesney’s “Live in No Shoes Nation” arrived at No. 1 with 219,000 units in November 2017. Furthermore, it is the first country album to top the charts this year. Aldean’s first single from the album, “You Make It Easy,” peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking his 15th top 40 single.

Country star Shania Twain apologized to anyone she may have offended when she recently said that if she were American, she would have voted for Donald Trump in the last presidential election. The Canadian said in an interview that she would have cast her ballot for Trump because “he seemed honest.” But after receiving bashlack for her comments, Twain took to Twitter to clarify her statements and apologize: “I would like to apologize to anybody I have offended in a recent interview with the Guardian relating to the American President. The question caught me off guard. As a Canadian, I regret answering this unexpected question without giving my response more context,” she wrote. “I am passionately against discrimination of any kind and hope it’s clear from the choices I have made, and the people I stand with, that I do not hold any common moral beliefs with the current President.”

Janet Jackson has announced that she’s extending her State of the World tour. Her critically-acclaimed State of the World Tour wrapped in December 2017, but now Jackson has decided to add new summer dates, starting on July 11 in Austin. Jackson has also added dates for Rogers, Arkansas; Cincinnati; Syracuse, New York; Hersey, Pennsylvania; Saratoga Springs, New York; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Raleigh; Charlotte; Miami; and Tampa. Jackson will also headline the Essence Festival. Erykah Badu and Jill Scott will play Friday night, Mary J. Blige headlines Saturday and Janet closes out the festival with a headlining performance on Sunday.

Bush, Bill Clinton and George H. W. Bush – along with First Lady Melania Trump and former first ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton. Taken this past Saturday by Paul Morse, the former White House photographer for George W. Bush, the photo was initially tweeted by Jim McGrath, a spokesperson for George H. W. Bush. President Donald Trump is absent from the photo, as he did not attend the funeral in Houston on Saturday. The president tweeted about Barbara Bush along with a photo of her White House portrait, saying “today, my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family,” he wrote. “In memory of First Lady Barbara Bush, there is a remembrance display located at her portrait in the Center Hall of the @WhiteHouse.
The country harmony duo Maddie & Tae have announced the release of their brand-new single titled “Friends Don’t.” The duo took to social media to post an excerpt from “Friends Don’t,” which incorporates some more modern and pop-influenced elements into their signature vocal blend. The duo scored a hit with their debut single, “Girl in a Country Song,” in 2014, but “Friends Don’t” will mark their first new single under a new deal with Mercury Records as part of Universal Music Group in Nashville. “Friends Don’t” is set for release on Friday (April 27). The duo debuted another new song, “One Heart to Another” at a live showcase during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville in February.
