We haven’t heard any new music from Beyonce since Lemonade came out last year — understandable, given that she’s the mother of newborn twins. But she’s a featured artist on the new single “Mi Gente” from J Blavin and Willy William, singing in both English and Spanish. And she’s making sure her contribution to the record also will contribute to a good cause.
On Thursday the singer announced that she is donating her proceeds from the single to hurricane and earthquake relief charities including CEMA, UNICEF and Somos Una Voz for Puerto Rico, Mexico and other affected Caribbean islands.
Beyonce’s charitable foundation has been involved in hurricane relief efforts, and the singer also made a taped appearance during the national Hand in Hand telethon that raised more than $44 million.
