Taylor Swift kicked off her Reputation stadium tour on Tuesday, May 8 — and the setlist includes 24 of her biggest hits. Swift performed 14 songs from her acclaimed 2017 album, Reputation, in addition to her previous singles and fan favorites. Camila Cabello and Charli XCX opened for Swift as they played for a sold-out crowd of 59,157 fans at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Swift’s set ran for more than two hours and found her performing on three separate stages. The main platform featured a 172-foot tall video screen that curved and continued into the floor. The tour is scheduled through November, with U.S. dates including stops in Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans and East Rutherford, New Jersey.

59-year-old pop legend Madonna surprised fans with a performance during the annual Met Gala event this year in New York City. Madonna took over the interior of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and performed her iconic 1989 song “Like a Prayer”and a cover of Leonard Cohen’s 1984 song “Hallelujah.” Keeping with the 2018 Met Gala’s theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” Madonna took to a staircase inside the museum’s Great Hall dressed in a monastic cloak, accompanied by a score of backup performers dressed as monks. Earlier, she walked the star-studded benefit’s red carpet dressed in a black Jean Paul Gaultier gown, while a black net veil draped across her face with bejeweled crosses, rosaries, and a bouquet of black roses to complete the look.

The Sherlock Holmes franchise is back as Warner Bros. announced that Sherlock Holmes 3 will be released on Christmas Day; December 25, 2020. Robert Downey Jr. will return as Holmes, alongside Jude Law, who stars as Sherlock’s famous sidekick, Dr. Watson. Guy Ritchie directed the first two films in the Warners franchise, but no director is currently attached for Part 3. The script comes from Chris Brancato, writer for critically acclaimed series Narcos and Hannibal. Sherlock will have some pretty stiff competition at the Christmas box office in 2020. James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, is set to arrive on December 18, 2020 and the animated sequel Sing 2 will also arrive in theaters on Christmas Day, 2020.

Every year on the first Monday in May, the tradition known as the “Met Gala” takes place in New York City. The annual event kicks off the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s fashion exhibition, and features celebrities paired with designers to show off the fashion industry’s most bold and beautiful looks. This year, the museum’s show, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” is the theme and the largest exhibition the Costume Institute has ever put on. It explores the relationship between visual Catholic traditions and fashion. Celebrities including Rihanna, Amal Clooney, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and more took over the red carpet. Transparent is moving forward without star Jeffrey Tambor, but this will be it’s last season. Amazon’s original series will conclude with the upcoming fifth and final season, according to creator Jill Soloway. A few months after sexual assault allegations against Tambor and his subsequent dismissal from the series, Soloway admitted to finally feeling “a tiny bit like we are going to be okay.” Transparent premiered in 2014 and won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 2015, while Tambor won a Golden Globe and two Emmys for his portrayal of transgender matriarch Maura Pfefferman. The actor is no longer be involved with the show after sexual harassment accusations made by a Transparent guest star and former assistant led to his firing in February.

After delivering the biggest box office opening in history last week, Disney and Marvel’s superhero blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War is on track to earn an estimated $112.5 million from 4,474 theaters in the U.S. and Canada this weekend, crushing its competitors while scoring the second-best second weekend ever. Only Star Wars: The Force Awakens has grossed more, and Infinity War will bump Black Panther down to third on the list. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Infinity War marks the third Avengers film and the 19th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Infinity War has received generally positive reviews from critics, and moviegoers gave it an A CinemaScore. An untitled sequel is already on the calendar for May 3, 2019.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released two new photos of their new son, Prince Louis, on Sunday. The first official photos were taken by Princess Kate at the home of her and Prince William in Kensington Palace. Prince Louis Arthur Charles first official snapshot was taken on April 26, just three days after he was born. The second photo, taken on Princess Charlotte’s third birthday on May 2, shows the older sister planting a gentle kiss on her baby brother’s forehead. “The Duke and Duchess would like to thank members of the public for their kind messages following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” Kensington Palace tweeted on Sunday. In the photo, Princess Charlotte is pictured in a blue and white cardigan worn by Prince George in a family portrait for the Queen’s 90th birthday in April 2016, and Prince Louis’ white outfit was also previously worn by his sister in a portrait taken after she was born. Former Law & Order actress Diane Neal is seeking a new role– as representative of a congressional district in upstate New York. Neal, 42, appeared on the original L&O, once the longest-running crime drama on American primetime. From 2001-2012, she played Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak on Law & Order: SVU, now in its 19th season. More recently, in 2015, Neal appeared on NCIS: New Orleans, The Following and Blue Bloods. Neal launched her campaign for the 19th Congressional District, where she has lived for four years. She announced her independent candidacy in February. Seven candidates are vying for the Democratic nomination, but Neal is running as an independent.

Isabela Moner will take on the title role in the live-action feature film “Dora the Explorer,” Paramount Players announced earlier this week. The film will be based on the animated series of the same name. It will follow a teenage version of Dora, as she goes on an adventure with her best friend, a monkey named Boots, and her cousin Diego. Moner recently starred in “Transformers: The Last Knight” with Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Hopkins. She also previously voiced the character Kate in the 2014 animated spinoff “Dora and Friends: Into the City!” and was the lead in Nickelodeon comedy series “100 Things to Do Before High School.” The original animdated “Dora the Explorer” series premiered on Nickelodeon in 2000, featuring Dora as a 7-year-old Latina who travels the world. The live-action film will be shot in Queensland, Australia, and is expected to be released in theaters on Aug. 2, 2019.
