‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ Breaks Record For Most Watched Unscripted Cable Premiere In 6 Years

The premiere of MTV’s Jersey Shore Family Vacation proved to be a huge success for the cable network. The new series became the most watched unscripted cable series premiere in six years. The show’s first two episodes, which were part of a back-to-back two-hour special, averaged a score of 2.96 in the 18-34 demographic—higher than the 2012 season finale. Jersey Shore Family Vacation was also a big hit on social media, with the hashtag #JSFamilyVacation trending for seven hours in the United States on Twitter. The series’ success on social media may have also had to do with it being a global premiere, which was a first for MTV. Jersey Shore Family Vacation followed original housemates Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino for a reunion in Miami; only missing from the reboot of the series is Sammie “Sweetheart” Giancola.

Actress Jaime King Speaks Out On Violent Attack Against Her & Her Son

Jaime King has posted on her Instagram about the terrifying act of violence that occurred against her, her four-year-old son James Knight, and her friend Judit Balogh on April 4 in Beverly Hills. The actress wrote a note to her fans, thanking them for support and noting that many of the facts that have been released are not accurate. “James Knight is very shaken up, as am I. The attack was incredibly violent, and my 4 year old son was obviously the target of the individual’s brutal attack, which is terrifying,” King wrote. Beverly Hills Police have stated that King’s car was parked and her son James was sitting in a car seat in the back, while King’s friend was in the driver’s seat. Suspect Paul Francis Floyd, 47, jumped on the car and pummeled the window. King’s friend got out of the car to try to stop Floyd, who threw a can at her.  “In an effort to protect the child, the female driver exited the vehicle and confronted the suspect at which time he threw a can at her, striking her arm.” Police said Floyd had also kicked another car before attacking King’s Mercedes. Floyd was arrested on one count each of felony child endangerment and misdemeanor battery and two counts of felony vandalism. He was being held on $100,000 bail.  Police said they are still investigating the incident.

Carrie Underwood Reveals Her Face For First Time Since Injury

Carrie Underwood appears to be on the comback after a November 2017 accident caused her to receive more than 40 stitches in her face. The country superstar took to Instagram to share a rare photo of herself at work in a recording studio. While it’s unclear when exactly the picture was taken, fans were ecstatic to see the singer back in the studio.  Underwood has kept photos of herself to a minimum since she was injured in the accident, which happened when she tripped on steps outside her Nashville home. Though she warned fans she “might look a bit different” once she healed, the singer looked as stunning as ever in the picture.   Early last month, Underwood debuted the video for her hit single “The Champion.” She also garnered ACM nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for the single “The Fighter” with Keith Urban.

Filmmaker Says ‘Stranger Things’ Creators Stole His Ideas In New Lawsuit

Filmmaker Charlie Kessler is suing “Stranger Things” show creators Matt and Ross Duffer for allegedly stealing ideas for their hit Netflix show after he pitched a similar project to them. According to the lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, Kessler met the brothers at a Tribeca Film Festival party in April 2014 and introduced the concept of a feature based on his supernatural short film “Montauk” that had premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival two years earlier. He later handed over the script, ideas, story and the short film to the siblings. Now, Kessler claims they took his ideas without his permission or knowledge. “Stranger Things,” which originally was titled “Montauk” when it was sold to Netflix, has become a huge hit and a third season in the works. The filmmaker is now seeking damages and lost profits. Both “Montauk” and “Stranger Things” followed The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time, a 1992 science fiction book about secret government experiments.

Cynthia Nixon Appears On Wendy Williams Show For Her First Interview Since Announcing Her Run For NY Governor

Cynthia Nixon took her political aspirations to “The Wendy Williams Show” when the former “Sex and the City” star gave her first sit-down interview to the talk show host in a chat that aired on Wednesday. Nixon recently announced her candidacy for governor of New York. She is set to challenge Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the state’s Democratic primary in September.  Nixon spoke to Williams about her love for New York and said she has gotten endorsements from some major celebs, including her former “Sex and the City” co-stars. “People talk a lot to me about being a celebrity entering this race,” Nixon said. “But I have to say when Andrew Cuomo ran eight years ago he was a celebrity because he was the son of Mario Cuomo.” Nixon also hinted that she chose Williams to talk to by expressing the need for support among African-American women. “They are the cornerstone, the backbone of the Democratic Party,” Nixon said. “We need to let them lead.”  Nixon also said, “we have such an appetite now, that’s why I’m running. There’s such an appetite for real progressive change in New York state.”

Taylor Swift’s Stalker Has Been Sentenced To 10 Years Probation

A 39-year-old man accused of stalking Taylor Swift was arrested in October 2016, and now following a years-long legal battle he was sentenced to probation. Frank Andrew Hoover was accused of following the singer’s motorcade to the airport, sending Taylor’s father frightening emails that included threats to “end” her family, and violating a lifetime protective order against him. After pleading guilty to repeatedly violating the protective order, the stalker was sentenced on Monday to a 10-year probation, but there are many legal strings attached to make sure that he can no longer harass Swift. As part of the conditions of his probation, Hoover must stay one mile away from Swift and her family, and his location will reportedly be monitored by GPS for at least the first year of his probation. He will also reportedly have to complete psychological testing, attend substance abuse classes, surrender all firearms, and undergo random drug testing. If he does not comply, he will be immediately sent to jail.

Taylor Swift Defends Hayley Kiyoko After Fans Call Her Out

Taylor Swift has come to the defense of Hayley Kiyoko after some Swift fans thought Kiyoko was taking a shot at her with recent comments she made. During a March 30 interview, Kiyoko said,”I’ve had several music industry execs say, ‘You’re doing another music video about girls? I literally looked at them and was like, um, yeah… Taylor Swift sings about men in every single song and video, and no one complains that she’s unoriginal.” While some fans thought Kiyoko was throwing shade at Swift, Taylor quickly shot down any notions of bad blood between the two, commending Kiyoko for her comments. “We should applaud artists who are brave enough to tell their honest romantic narrative through their art, and the fact is that I’ve never encountered homophobia and she has,” Swift wrote. “It’s her right to call out anyone who has double standards about gay vs straight love interests.”  You can check out Taylor Swift’s Tumblr post in the article below.
