XXXTentacion Drops Defamation Suit Against Assault Accuser

XXXTentacion is dropping his defamation lawsuit against a girl who claims the rapper physically assaulted her. The video of the incident leaked on Reddit, where the rapper is seen dancing in the camera before slapping the girl toward the end of the video. X claimed that the move by his accuser was an extortion attempt, however the accuser originally stated that she never posted the video because she was “terrified” for her life but following the defamation suit she then changed her story to state that the two were kids joking around and she was not injured as a result of the incident. XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jaseh Onfroy, has been fighting an ongoing case against him with charges related to assault and witness tampering, which led to Onfroy being incarcerated and released on bail in December.  In the meantime, X has promised to release two more albums in 2018 one of which might be a joint album with Pro Era’s Joey Bada$$.

Cardi B Deletes Instagram Account Following Rift With Azealia Banks

On Friday, Azealia Banks appeared on the popular radio program “The Breakfast Club, and the conversation turned towards fellow rapper Cardi B.  Banks was blunt when speaking of Cardi, likening Cardi to an “illiterate, untalented rat” and a “caricature of a black woman.”  To quote Banks: “Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high. There was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B.”

In response, Cardi B. shot back at Azealia, in a now-deleted Instagram post.  Cardi defended the persona and musical style, saying, in part: “I’m from the hood. I speak how I speak I am how I am. I did not choose to be famous people choose me! People followed me on Instagram and the people gave me a platform to introduce my talent. I never asked to be a example or a role model I don’t want to change my ways because I’m famous that’s why I just mind my business.”  Cardi B also took issue with Banks’s “illiterate” jab. “Just because I mix a few words up forget to use commas or misspell a few words,” she wrote, “doesn’t make me illiterate and doesn’t make me stupid.”  Cardi then deleted her Instagram account.
