Drake and Rihanna make donations to aid Hurricane Harvey victims

The “Hotline Bling” rapper shared an Instagram video Thursday in which he tells fans he’s donated $200,000 via NFL footballer J.J. Watt‘s Houston Flood Relief Fund.  

Watt’s initiative has already surpassed it’s $10,000,000 goal.  

In the video, Drizzy begins, “To the resilient people of Houston and the entire state of Texas, I would like to send you all of our love and all of our prayers. To the brave men and women who have assisted in aid, relief and rescue, your actions are truly heroic.” 

He continues, “My good friend J.J. Watt has started a fundraising effort through YouCaring and I donated $200,000 towards it. I’ll be leaving a link in my bio.”

“The journey to rebuilding is going to be a long one, so anything you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you.” 

As for RiRi, the nonprofit organization Feeding America confirms via Twitter that the singer also donated funds through her Clara Lionel Foundation, though the pledge amount is currently unknown.  

“A huge thank you to @rihanna and the @ClaraLionelFdn for their generous donation for Tropical Storm Harvey relief efforts!” reads the tweet.

Other stars, including BeyoncéDJ KhaledNicki MinajT.I.Chris BrownDwayne “The Rock” JohnsonKim Kardashian WestJennifer Lopez and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, and Miley Cyrus, have either pledged money or set up charity initiatives to collect donations for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
