US Ambassador Nikki Haley will present “irrefutable evidence” that Iran has tried to cover up violations of international obligations, the US mission said Wednesday. Haley will hold a press conference in Washington on Thursday on Iran’s “ongoing destabilizing activities in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world.” The United States and Saudi Arabia have accused Iran of supplying weapons to Yemen’s Huthi rebels, who fired a missile intercepted near Riyadh airport on November 4.

House and Senate GOP leaders forged an agreement Wednesday on a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s tax laws, paving the way for final votes next week to slash taxes for businesses and give many Americans modest tax cuts starting next year. Top GOP aides said lawmakers had reached an agreement in principle on the final package. Details still need to be drafted and assessed by congressional scorekeepers, but the final House-Senate compromise is on track to be unveiled this week, the aides said.
Broadcasting legend Bob Costas has been named the 2018 Ford C. Frick Award winner. According to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Costas will be recognized during the Hall of Fame awards presentation on July 28, 2018 during Hall of Fame weekend. He becomes the 42nd winner of the Frick Award. The Ford C. Frick award is voted upon annually and named in memory of sportswriter, radio broadcaster, National League president and baseball commission.

Miami agreed to trade Marcell Ozuna — their Gold Glove, Silver Slugger left fielder — to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. He is the third All-Star to be traded in six days. The Cardinals are reportedly sending four prospects to the Marlins, including right-handed pitcher Sandy Alcantara. Ozuna is scheduled to hit free agency after the 2019 season. For the Marlins, this is another step in that offseason roster deconstruction. It started with Dee Gordon, continued with Giancarlo Stanton, now includes Ozuna and could send more Marlins packing in the coming days and weeks.

On Tuesday evening, December 12, singer Dylan Scott and his wife Blair welcomed their first child, a son named Beckett Scott Robinson. The Scott family announced the new arrival via social media. Their son was welcomed to the world weighing eight pounds and measuring 21 inches long. The rising star has been on the road with Justin Moore on his Hell on a Highway Tour that continues through April of 2018. Scott scored his first No. 1 single with “My Girl” in 2017.
Kane Brown was added to the lineup to help kick off 2018 in style with a special performance as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2018 on ABC. The country singer is set to perform from the Hollywood Party in Los Angeles on Dec. 31. Brown isn’t the only country artist invited to the New Year’s Eve party: Sugarland will serve as performers in New York City’s Times Square. This year, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebrates its 46th anniversary. Ryan Seacrest serves as host in New York City, while pop singer Ciara will host the Hollywood portion.

On Dec. 15, N.E.R.D.’s fifth studio album, No_One Ever Really Dies, will be available worldwide. The band (consisting of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley) pulled in some famous friends to work with, and have unveiled a new track called ‘Don’t Don’t Do It!’, a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean. Pharrell explained how the track was inspired by the death of Keith Scott, an African-American man fatally shot by police last year. Williams went on to explain how Ocean wrote the intro to the song, and called Kendrick “incredible and brilliant.”

After releasing his 45 track album Heart Break on a Full Moon and earning over 40 gold platinum plaques Chris Brown continues to end the year off strong by releasing more new music. Brown released a new single on Tuesday that did not make it onto the album. Brown comes through with his latest single “Goin At It” delivering another playful, upbeat track.

John Stamos and his fiancée, Caitlin McHugh, announced they are expecting their first child together. The big news come two months after the Full House alum proposed to McHugh. Stamos revealed that although he has wanted to be a father for as long as he can remember, he was worried it was too late. He said: “I always wanted to be a dad. Clearly I had to do some work on myself first.” He also credited his work on hit TV show ‘Fuller House’ and its predecessor ‘Full House’ for giving him experience in being a father. He said: “I’ll be a fun dad. I’ve been practicing for a long time.”

The 2018 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were announced on Tuesday, as Olivia Munn and Niecy Nash revealed the nominees live from Los Angeles. Many famous faces are featured on this year’s list, and some of the biggest movies and TV shows of the year have been honored as well. Morgan Freeman will receive the 2018 Life Achievement Award, and actress Kristen Bell will host the show live on January 21st.
