Jill Scott, the 45-year-old Grammy award-winning singer, has filed for divorce. The court papers say that Scott cited irreconcilable differences as well as “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper.” Scott wed Mike Dobson in June 2016. This is Scott’s second marriage. She and Dobson did not have any children together during their union.

DMX will soon be starring in his own reality television series. The series, tentatively titled In the Dog House, will give viewers an intimate look into X’s life, according to a press release. It will follow the veteran rapper as he attempts to get back on the straight and narrow following a recent stint in rehab.

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has been sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for parole violation. Born Robert Williams, the rapper learned his fate during a court appearance on Monday (Nov. 6). The sentence follows an arrest for fighting at a St. Louis airport and for reckless driving in New York City.

Meek Mill’s legal woes continue. This Monday (Nov. 6), the Philadelphia rapper is set to appear in court for probation violations for his drug and weapons case. Mill is facing up to 20 months in prison for violating the terms of his probation with an arrest for fighting at a St. Louis airport and his reckless driving arrest in New York City.

Attendees at The Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago were treated to a performance by Chance the Rapper on Wednesday, November 1. The evening’s other performances came courtesy of singer Gloria Estefan, rock band The National and included a surprise act for the evening: Nas, who performed both “I Can” and “One Mic.” The nearly two-and-a-half-hour concert was streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.

Tyrese Gibson posted an emotional video stating how desperately he misses his 10-year-old daughter, Shayla. Gibson is currently engulfed in a legal battle with his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, over their daughter. Tyrese’s emotional plea comes days after he was hospitalized, suffering from anxiety and dehydration which led to him being rushed to the hospital.

Rapper Nicki Minaj is starring in an upcoming holiday campaign for H&M. Minaj posted about the campaign on her Instagram. It’s also rumored that Minaj is creating a capsule collection for H&M. She attended the Met Gala in a custom H&M gown and mentioned that she was working on a “special collaboration” with the brand.
